"Oh my goodness where to begin with this long overdue review! I'll start by saying I had contacted four florists over a year in advance, three of which were unavailable and the fourth set up a call with me then ghosted me before the call! I was convinced it was a sign, that maybe I should give up on it and DIY it. Thank goodness I didn't (and big thanks to her mom for hearing my saga and reminding me her daughter is an incredible florist!) Hylary and Jason went above and beyond our expectations in so many ways. Hylary was unbelievably easy to work with, thoughtful, prompt when corresponding, helped with with the table design because I have no idea what colors should go with what, and practically made our whole day shine with gorgeous florals. I mean, anything we needed she was able to make it happen - what florist would do that?! I have to note as well how detail oriented she is. She listened and boy did she provide. She sent us a three page document outlining the florals/greenery with both ours and her suggestions as well as a complete price breakdown. I appreciated how thorough she was because when planning a wedding that kind of communication is hard to come by. Hylary, we love you! We'd choose you and your team over and over again as our day would not have been as beautiful without you. We can't sing Hylary and her team's praises enough."
"Hylary was my florist for my wedding on March 19th at OVY Camp. From our initial conversation, I knew that she could execute my vision. I ended up purchasing, finding and reusing bottles, vases and votives for my reception tables. Hylary did an amazing job complimenting all the vases with the flowers. Hylary's husband Jason, arranged to pick up some of the vases and bottles ahead of time to prep the flowers and I honestly thought that was a pretty kind gesture to do.
Throughout the entire process, I felt like the communication and attention to detail was spot on and extremely helpful. Although, I didn't get to meet with Hylary in person -- I found her to be very honest and really easy to work with. My dad did meet her during the wedding morning and raved about her arrangements and her kind soul!!
Hylary did a fantastic job with matching the color palettes of the beautiful redwoods. My husband and I are still in absolute awe of the flower arrangements, gorgeous bouquets, hair piece, stage and fireplace piece. All of our guests commented on how magical the flowers were and we ended up giving some of the arrangements to family/friends. One of my favorite details of the floral arrangements, was the sword ferns. It added a whimsical touch to the already stunning flowers. I ended up bringing some of my flowers home and they lasted about two weeks, which I was extremely impressed with. I highly recommend H & J and wish I could give them 1000 stars!!!"

- While I was getting ready, I really wanted to see sneak peeks of the ceremony and reception space, and Hylary texted me photos and videos so I could see everything coming to life before guests arrived.

"H & J Flowers did an amazing job on my daughter's wedding. From our first consultation, we immediately loved Hylary! She was sweet and personable, answered all of our questions, and provided a lot of ideas on the theme my daughter had in mind. With very specific like/dislikes from the bridge, they took on a very big task. She presented a quote that was very detailed including sample photos and written out descriptions of each item, which made it easy to see that she had heard our thoughts and knew what we were trying to achieve. She came out to the site, with Jason as the engineering/logistics expert, to plan for the installations on the big day. Not only did the delivered product turn out beyond our expectation, but it held up to the windiest day we had so far this year and still looked amazing the next day! A last minute request to deliver bouquets to the nearby hotel where the bridal party was getting ready was accommodated without a second thought. They were thorough, professional, and kept in constant communication with us as the event approached. We had such a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone for any event."
"This team was amazing! I reached out to Hylary and we made an appointment to chat. I share with her my Pinterest board and she made my ideas come to life! She understood the direction I was going with the decor and I was able to combine two themes with her help. They also provided votives and candles!
Hylary was very accommodating when I was trying to coordinate with receiving flowers at the hotel and the arrival of the photographers. The photographers requested flat lay flowers which Hylary's team was able to provide. They did a great job when I was changing my request the month prior to the wedding. Hylary made sure to get in touch with us before finalizing everything. I appreciated the detailed contract to help us keep track of our requests. It includes photos so I know what we were getting!

"I'm still speechless of how above and beyond Hylary went to provide the amazing flowers and decorations for my wedding. I live in England so I was planning my wedding solely though email communication and Skype. I contacted Hylary a year before my wedding and it was constant communication throughout the year to make sure she understood what I was wanting. I was a very laid-back bride and gave Hylary some colors and picture to go off from, but I didn't have a set vision in my head. When I arrived on my wedding day to see how everything had come together, I was completely blown away. My mother even cried when she saw how beautiful our bouquets were. It was just so much more than I could have ever imagined in my head. The flowers she sourced were the biggest blooms I have ever seen and the colors went perfectly with the bridal party. From the initial contact to the countless follow up emails, Hylary was always very responsive, helpful, and thorough in her replies. I LOVE flowers and am very particular about which ones I wanted for our wedding. I especially wanted to incorporate Cloni ranunculus and when Hylary's wholesaler did not have them in stock, she went out of her way to get them for me from another wholesaler. She understood our color scheme very well and ensured all the flowers were consistent with our vision. It was such a great pleasure working with Hylary and I'd recommend her without hesitation!

As a wedding planner I cannot recommend H & J Flowers enough. Hylary was a gem to work with with and turned out a beautiful product for a wedding at Valley Presbyterian Church & the University Club of Palo Alto. Hylary really understood the minimalist, bright, airy garden vision of the wedding and brought the design board to life. "This is a long overdue review for Hylary! I'm a professional makeup artist, so I have seen many different flower arrangements for different clients. When it was my own turn, I did some quick research online and also reached out to some connections that I know in the field. Hylary was the best, no question asked. Her price was competitive, her communication was excellent! I actually never even met her in person=) And she delivered an amazing look! (within budget)! I only talked to her on the phone for about 15 mins and then sent her couple pictures of what I was looking for, then she immediately sent me a quote. She was quick and efficient. In addition, her quote was VERY DETAILED. She listed exactly what flowers she would use, how much it is for each item, with pictures, etc. When I received her proposal, I paid, lol. Yes, immediately.
On the wedding day, she had everything ready for my friend to come pick up for the bridal party. Packaged carefully. She made sure to give me extra for my hair flowers, etc. At the same time, she and her husband worked with my venue coordinator and everything was just perfect. The flowers were absolutely stunning! "If you're looking for a wedding florist in the Napa/Sonoma/San Francisco area, look no further than H & J Flowers! Hylary has great communication and is very easy to work with. She even offered to hop on the phone with me to discuss bouquet details when I struggled to articulate what I was looking for over e-mail (she later ended up making me the perfect bouquet...her and her co-worker Jacquie are incredibly talented!) H & J even went out of their way to make a flower crown for a sheep attending our wedding and also made Hindu floral garlands for our cross cultural ceremony. "We were on a tight budget for our wedding and there were a lot of things I wanted to do with flowers. I had a Pinterest board full of floral ideas. Hylary was able to suggest some budget friendly modifications to the ideas I wanted without sacrificing the overall look I was going for. I gave her ribbon to use on the bridesmaids bouquets so the ribbon would match what I was using on my dress. I had flowers for the ceremony that were designed to be able to move easily into the reception to repurpose as centerpieces as well as taller centerpieces that were pink baby's breath. Since baby's breath is normally white, Hylary used colored dye to spray the flowers pink for a custom look. My bridal bouquet was exactly the colors and flowers we had discussed. Overall, H & J was great to work with (I also used them for my sister's bridal shower) and they worked within my budget. I highly recommend them!"
