"Oh my goodness where to begin with this long overdue review! I'll start by saying I had contacted four florists over a year in advance, three of which were unavailable and the fourth set up a call with me then ghosted me before the call! I was convinced it was a sign, that maybe I should give up on it and DIY it. Thank goodness I didn't (and big thanks to her mom for hearing my saga and reminding me her daughter is an incredible florist!) "Hylary was my florist for my wedding on March 19th at OVY Camp. From our initial conversation, I knew that she could execute my vision. I ended up purchasing, finding and reusing bottles, vases and votives for my reception tables. Hylary did an amazing job complimenting all the vases with the flowers. Hylary's husband Jason, arranged to pick up some of the vases and bottles ahead of time to prep the flowers and I honestly thought that was a pretty kind gesture to do.
Throughout the entire process, I felt like the communication and attention to detail was spot on and extremely helpful. Although, I didn't get to meet with Hylary in person -- I found her to be very honest and really easy to work with. My dad did meet her during the wedding morning and raved about her arrangements and her kind soul!!
Hylary did a fantastic job with matching the color palettes of the beautiful redwoods. My husband and I are still in absolute awe of the flower arrangements, gorgeous bouquets, hair piece, stage and fireplace piece. All of our guests commented on how magical the flowers were and we ended up giving some of the arrangements to family/friends. One of my favorite details of the floral arrangements, was the sword ferns. It added a whimsical touch to the already stunning flowers. I ended up bringing some of my flowers home and they lasted about two weeks, which I was extremely impressed with. I highly recommend H & J and wish I could give them 1000 stars!!!"

It was important to my wife and I to work with vendors that weren't just LGBTQ+ friendly, but were true allies. We loved Hylary's story of starting H&J after doing florals for her sister and sister in law's wedding. We loved how Hylary put the proposal together to allow us to see how best to achieve our floral vision while staying within our budget. I live in England so I was planning my wedding solely though email communication and Skype. I contacted Hylary a year before my wedding and it was constant communication throughout the year to make sure she understood what I was wanting. She was sweet and personable, answered all of our questions, and provided a lot of ideas on the theme my daughter had in mind. With very specific like/dislikes from the bridge, they took on a very big task. She presented a quote that was very detailed including sample photos and written out descriptions of each item, which made it easy to see that she had heard our thoughts and knew what we were trying to achieve. She came out to the site, with Jason as the engineering/logistics expert, to plan for the installations on the big day. "This is a long overdue review for Hylary! I'm a professional makeup artist, so I have seen many different flower arrangements for different clients. When it was my own turn, I did some quick research online and also reached out to some connections that I know in the field. Hylary was the best, no question asked. Her price was competitive, her communication was excellent! I actually never even met her in person=) And she delivered an amazing look! (within budget)! I only talked to her on the phone for about 15 mins and then sent her couple pictures of what I was looking for, then she immediately sent me a quote. She was quick and efficient. In addition, her quote was VERY DETAILED. She listed exactly what flowers she would use, how much it is for each item, with pictures, etc. When I received her proposal, I paid, lol. Yes, immediately.
On the wedding day, she had everything ready for my friend to come pick up for the bridal party. Packaged carefully. She made sure to give me extra for my hair flowers, etc. At the same time, she and her husband worked with my venue coordinator and everything was just perfect. The flowers were absolutely stunning! I ended up getting it pressed and preserved to keep it forever. This was by far the easiest vendor to work with, very responsive and detailed with communication. Florals are expensive, but an investment. H & J were worth every penny."

When the pandemic hit and we were forced to reschedule, Hylary was extremely empathetic and understanding when we had to postpone our wedding date not once, but twice. She was super responsive to all of my emails throughout the process and also definitely listened and paid attention to the inspiration pictures and flowers I mentioned loving and made sure they were part of our wedding despite changing from a Spring to a Fall wedding. Everything looked beautiful and I even got to enjoy the flowers from my bouquet and our sweetheart table/chuppah arrangement for the week after the wedding. "I can't begin to tell you how obsessed with all the florals I am. Our flowers and arrangements were gorgeous, and I cannot imagine them being any better than they were. The whole experience working with Hylary and Jason was so wonderful and pleasant. Hylary listened to every request and was very flexible working with different flowers, textures, and colors. I think one of my favorite parts was the incredibly detailed contract/proposal - not only did it list out the different flower types but has pictures of everything and included sample arrangements of what the finished product would look like. The whole thing was an absolutely dream. My bouquet was one of the most beautiful things I have ever held in my hands and I was so in love. The arrangements were expertly designed and put together and we got SO many compliments on our ceremony arch from guests. I am so happy with H & J and highly highly recommend them."

It was very stress free, just showed a picture of a bouquet I liked and even though the flowers that were used in the picture were out of season, H & J Flowers were able to get similar flowers that were in season to create the same look.
