We are a husband and wife team based out of Gilroy, California and serving the San Francisco Bay Area and Central Coast. Want to hear more about how H & J Flowers got started? Read on!
To really tell the story we have to start way back in 2001 when we started dating the summer between our junior and senior year of high school. We both went to Live Oak in Morgan Hill (go nuts!) and have been inseparable for decades now. We both attended San Jose State University together and tied the knot ourselves in 2008.
We discovered a love for weddings florals, specifically in working on them together, in 2011
when we were asked by a family member if we'd be willing to learn enough about floristry to create the florals for their destination wedding in the Yosemite Valley. We have both always been interested in art, design, and crafting (especially Hylary!), so we took on the challenge and absolutely loved it! We were both already working in our chosen professions after college, but the seeds were planted (no pun intended!) and soon we were embarking on the journey to starting our own business.
Over the next few years, we continued to create wedding florals for family and friends and learned as much as we possibly could about floristry. Now, we have had the honor to work with dozens and dozens of amazing couples and bring our love of flowers to each and every wedding we are a part of.
When we aren't working hard for our clients, you will find us playing with our six and a half year old and three year old sons, snuggling with our rescue Chiweenie, Chaz, or spending time with our extended families. We love to travel and take our boys on adventures!
